Cllr Cathal Byrne welcomes proposal for new public bus route for Ballyhogue, Bree & Killurin

“I welcome the announcement by the National Transport Authority this evening that they propose to operate a new public bus route from Enniscorthy to Wexford servicing residents in Ballyhogue, Bree and Killurin as part of their Connecting Ireland Plan for 2022,” commented local Enniscorthy Councillor Cathal Byrne.

“This announcement will mean that under the new proposals the local residents in the rural villages of Ballyhogue, Bree and Killurin will have access to a return bus from Enniscorthy to Wexford three times a day.”

“This was an issue that was raised directly with me by local residents during the last local election campaign and I very much welcome the recent announcement. Good public transport services are essential to access healthcare, employment and education.”

“The new route options will also play a part in Ireland’s plan to tackle climate change by offering an alternative option for local residents to the car.”

“I would encourage anyone interested in further information on the routes to check out the National Transport Authority’s Connecting Ireland Plan which is now on public consultation.” concluded Councillor Byrne.
